Global Business Perspective Print E-mail

World over economies and markets are becoming increasingly integrated and inter-dependent. In this inter-connected world it is imperative for our EPM participants to think and compete globally.

A few years from now, or perhaps earlier, you could be conducting business overseas with firms in Australia or Europe. Or, setting up a subsidiary of your own company in China. Or, working for a multinational company in Mexico or Brazil.

Given this scenario, you will find your IWSB experience extremely useful. Besides integrating global issues as a part of the curriculum for EPM, throughout the Programme we are visited by business experts and guest speakers from different parts of the world to speak exclusively to our participants. These experts comprise both practicing business professionals as well as faculty from leading international business schools.

Global Environment Module (GEM)

The GEM is an optional module of 3 weeks designed to provide the EPM participants real life hands-on experience of the business and socio-cultural environment of a significant emerging market. The key objectives of the GEM include providing students with opportunities to gain deeper insights into a region’s economic, cultural and political environment, and to understand local business practices.

While the module includes classroom sessions to do a thorough study of the chosen global destination’s history, political system and social structures and mores, the highlight of this module is the two-week study tour to the chosen region. The course concludes with students submitting a report on their visit and their learning. The list of destinations for your batch includes Brazil, China and South Africa.

Participants opting for the GEM will be required to pay an additional fee. For details please refer to the Admissions section.

Social Sector Module (SSM)

The SSM runs parallel to the GEM as an alternative. The objective of the SSM is similar to that of the GEM, although the context is the social sector of India. IWSB will facilitate arrangements for participants to spend two weeks with NGOs or social entrepreneurs staying at rural locations and understanding developmental issues and concepts of participative management, self-governance, and local self-sustenance.

As with the GEM, students submit a report of their learning and recommendations.
