 | The world over, economies and markets are becoming increasingly integrated and interdependent. In this inter-connected world it has become imperative to think and compete globally. A few years from now, or perhaps sooner than that, you could be conducting business overseas with firms in Australia or Europe. Or, setting up a subsidiary of your own company in China. Or working for a multinational company in Mexico or Brazil. |
Given this scenario, you will find your IWSB experience extremely useful in dealing with your international business challenges. IWSB seeks to build partnerships with institutions of higher learning including leading business schools across the globe. We aim to develop: - Student Exchange programs with our partner institutions
- Educational visits to overseas campuses as part of twinning arrangements.
Faculty exchanges, that would include visiting faculty from across the world who would offer various courses of relevance, would be another way of delivering global experience to you at IWSB
Also, in order to provide adequate conceptual foundation for management in the borderless world, a variety of core courses and electives would be available during your stay at IWSB. International Business Amongst many others, International Business is offered at IWSB as a major. The courses for this major have been designed with the premise that students would occupy management positions in organizations that have multinational operations, and those who get on to leadership positions in these organizations would need to manage effectively in both local and global arenas. Centre for International Business (CIB) The core purpose of the CIB at IWSB is to serve as a nodal point for development of international business education. It is responsible for the curriculum development for courses in international business, developing international teaching material, offering foreign language courses, |

organizing workshops and conferences in partnership with institutions around the world, and managing student and faculty exchange programs. Global Environment Exposure Program (GEEP) The GEEP is an elective course designed to provide IWSB students real life, hands-on experiences of the business and socio-cultural environment of a significant global market. The key objectives of the GEEP include providing students with opportunities to gain deeper insights into a region's economic, cultural and political environment, and to understand local business practices. While the course includes classroom sessions to do a thorough study of the chosen global destination's history, political system and social structures and mores, the highlight of this program is the two-week study tour to the chosen region. The course concludes with students submitting a report on their visit and their learnings. | AviraQuest 2009 As a part of the Global Entrepreneurial Summit hosted by IWSB in the month of February 2009, a team of leaders from Europe visited the institute. The purpose of their visit was to interact with the students, here at IWSB, at gain insights into their aspirations and thought processes. | The eminent participants of Aviraquest (Leaders Quest) 2009 included Mr. Phil Bloomer, Director of Campaigns and Policy, Oxfam, Mr. Agostino Galvangi, Head of Insurance & Speciality, Swiss Re, Julian Lopez, CEO, Zurich, Ms. Azita Owlia, Senior Vice President, Polyurethane Business Group Asia Pacific, Bayer Material Science and Professor Subramanian Rangan, Global Strategy and Management INSEAD. Our students interacted with these leaders from across various sectors for the better part of the evening and gathered insights from their respective fields and their journeys as Leaders. Further, these renowned individuals were given insights into the activities that our students have engaged in over the past eight months and gave strong, positive feedback to our community as a whole.
