E Week’09

IWSB

E Week’09 – IWSB Connect
IWSB, an initiative of the Career Launcher Education Foundation is itself a product of an entrepreneurial dream. The entrepreneurial ethos is at the heart of the foundational principles of IWSB. This entrepreneurial spirit is embodied in our core values of Risk Taking, Openness, Ownership, Honesty and Commitment and Innovation.

The school through its Incubation Centre envisages promoting the values of entrepreneurial leadership, with the aim to nurture, harness and bringing to life entrepreneurial ideas among its student community and also facilitating such opportunities in the country at large.

Our E-Cell ‘Disha’ has been actively engaging IWSB’s student community and also the student community of the country at large.

Srijan’09 is our first initiative to provide a springboard to those numerous entrepreneurial ideas across the whole country. The winning start-up ideas of the day will begin their entrepreneurial journey with us and travel the distance between the generations of a brilliant idea to becoming a successful enterprise.

Further, NEN has honored our E-Cell ‘Disha’ with the recognition of being a ‘Mature E-Cell’, with
responsibilities to mentor growing E-Cell’s at other institutes and ultimately fostering an entrepreneurial spirit amongst the student community.

E Week India: Vision
For one week, lakhs of young students across the country will come together to take part in a week-long awareness campaign to focus public attention on opportunities in today's India. Initiated by the non-profit National Entrepreneurship Network of the Wadhwani Foundation, E Week India 2009 is designed to embrace innovation, engage communities and inspire young people to think BIG. To think DIFFERENT. To break new frontiers.

E-Week India 2009 will connect young people across the country through a range of activities and programs to harness their potential as innovators and problem-solvers. Industry captains, experts, non-profit leaders, faculty members and students will be in attendance in large numbers to encourage, guide and inspire students to take action. In doing so, students will begin to acquire the knowledge, skills and values required to grow high-potential, sustainable enterprises for a brighter tomorrow.

E Week India 2009: Scaling New Heights
Compared with over 250 institutes and 200,000 students last year, this year's E Week will witness participation from over 400 institutes and 400,000 students across 30 cities in India.

This year the campaign also adds a new series of Special Awards to enable more institutes to join in the celebration. These awards will recognize extraordinary efforts to innovate, raise awareness and create impact. Winners will be flown in to attend the gala Award Ceremony and recognized in various national and local publications.

E Week India 2009 will also see support from various corporate and non-profit organizations and media groups. Specific information about partners and hosts will soon be made available on this site.

E Week India 2009 theme: Go Green! The world is our business.
The need for sustainable forms of development has never been more telling: the effects of climate change are now all too real to ignore. Even as governments around the world drag their feet on ways and means to counter them, private enterprises are beginning to take charge. And it is not just to deflect criticism from green activists, but to capitalize on the billions of dollars worth of opportunities and investments this sector is beginning to witness.

In this context, E Week India's theme this year, "Go Green! The world is our business", will aim to focus attention on sustainable development, green business opportunities, and innovative solutions to environmental problems. Students will be mobilized to take part in a wide range of activities and programs - both online and face-to-face. These will include expert panel discussions on alternative forms of energy, competitions to identify and debate on green opportunities, educational movie screenings exhibitions to showcase ideas and ventures of students, and much more!
