What is the course structure and what are the specializations offered? How about placements? What is the profile of students at IWSB? What is the fees? What IWSB is looking for? What is the selection process? Application Deadlines Does IWSB offer Financial Assistance? How to apply? What do you mean by Realizing one’s Potential? One’s potential is infinite. Have you really thought about it? When I say potential, let me share a few powerful one-line stories of determined youngsters like you, who are realizing their potential, who are turning into entrepreneurial leaders, with INDIA’s 90% unorganized economy providing immense opportunities - - A B-school grad has created ‘Vadapav’ business of 70 crores
- Another one is a ‘sabjiwala’ in Patna with a turnover of 5 crores in 2009, 100crores in 2011.
- A ‘mobile toilet’ business is worth multi-billion dollars for yet another youngster
- Five young expat B-school grads who came to India last year made 25 crores in the very first year selling LED lamps to rural India, 200crore company in the second year.
- Mobile phone based banking support network serving over 50lakh rural customers is sold off at a few million dollar valuation
- A few first/second year MBA students are on their way to raking big moolahs with their firms in - farming cooperatives, innovations to market place, food processing, carbon rating, education etc. (All IWSB students) and five ideas from non-IWSB students are being incubated.
What is most important is what the two years of learning at a B-School makes of an individual like you. So the question to be asked is - Does it help me realize my potential and dreams - excelling in my job, in a corporate Or start my own enterprise Or take our family business to higher levels?
Who is an Entrepreneurial Leader?- Entrepreneurial Leader does not mean an Entrepreneur. Entrepreneurial Leadership is a mindset; it is about the spirit, thinking, orientation.
- This mindset is as important for one who aspires to seek a high paying job (successful corporate leader also called an intrapreneur) as is for one who wants to start his own enterprise, or one who wants to join the family business (entrepreneur).
- If you are entrepreneurial in thinking, there are greater chances of you succeeding in the corporate world, as organizations also look for one with such a mindset. This mindset can be inculcated in an ecosystem that can foster these qualities. So a B-School with such an ecosystem naturally stokes entrepreneurial leadership.
- Entrepreneurial leaders are transformational and they relentlessly pursue their INFINITY . Typical traits include –
1- Ambitious and often first movers 2- Keen eye for opportunities 3- Challenge conventional thinking 4- Shift paradigms, create new insights 5- Relentlessly push the boundaries of possibilities 6- Assume full responsibility of outcomes 7- Change the rules of the game 8- Healthy appetite for risk 9- Conscious of their role for the betterment of the society In short, Entrepreneurial Leaders mobilize resources, opinions and actions to achieve their goals. Why IWSB? World Recognizes IWSB You have been through the stories, which had a few IWSB students too who have started their enterprises. In the first batch of 45 students, only six have become entrepreneurs while the rest 39 are joining corporates. In the second batch there are already a few entrepreneurs. Think for yourself, in such an environment, even if you are seeking only a job, the learning and the environment will make you think more like an entrepreneur / Intrapreneur. So you are going to think very differently and the companies are going to like it. Like the HR head of Capgemini shared, “I am delighted to see different approach of the students here. I wish I could recruit all of them. Unfortunately I have to limit as I have more B-Schools to go to. But I will make sure that I tell more HR heads to visit IWSB campus to recruit.” HOW MANY B-Schools has IIMA written a case about? IWSB is a case study in making at IIM Ahmedabad : Ravi J Mathai Centre for Educational Innovation, IIM Ahmedabad is developing a CASE on "Setting New Trends in Business Education in India” that have significant potential to impact Indian society and economy, wherein IWSB is one of the four B-Schools selected out of over 1,500 B-schools existing in INDIA. How many schools has Harvard Business School Publishing signed an MOU with? - Harvard Business School Publishing (HBSP), India Office, has entered into an institutional contract with IWSB for supplying case studies and other academic materials, based on the distinct work we had done with them in selecting the cases for students. In just over a year, IWSB has become one of their key clients in India.
